GAP compatible this means that you can register the handset to MOST other GAP Compatible phone regardless of the make and model. (Check with manufactures if unsure), (Not all features will work when connected to another make or model; however you will be able to make and receive calls)

• GAP Compatible:
  GAP (Generic Access Profile) is the technology that allows
  digital handsets of different product families to communicate with one another.
• Hands-free:
  Allows user to hold a telephone conversation without lifting the handset.
• Caller Display:
  When used with a Caller Display service,
  this feature allows you to see the number of the calling party.
• Last Number Redial:
  Stores the most recently dialled numbers to be accessed again
  at the touch of a button.
• Call Timer:
  Monitors the duration of a call, beginning from the time the line is engaged.
• Keypad Lock:
  Allows user to lock the keypad to prevent buttons being pushed accidentally.
• Secrecy:
  Allows caller to be placed "on hold," to enable conversation
  without the caller hearing.
• Audible Message Alert:
  Flashing light, display icon and audible signal indicate
  when a new text message has been received.
• Conference call facility:
  Allows you to hold a three way call with up to
  two external callers. (A quarterly fee may be payable).
• Clock:
  Time is displayed when the product is in idle mode.
